A Work In Progress

Ever watched a baby go from crawling to walking? It’s a whole process—wobbly steps, sudden plops, and lots of cheering from the sidelines. When they fall, we don’t scold them and say, “What’s wrong with you?! Get up and do it right!” No, we rush to their side, comfort them, and encourage them to try again.
That’s exactly how Jesus treats us in our spiritual growth. He doesn’t shake His head in disappointment every time we stumble. Instead, He lovingly helps us up, dusts us off, and reminds us that His grace is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).
So why do we beat ourselves up when we struggle? Why do we let the enemy whisper lies that we’re not good enough, not growing fast enough, or failing too much? The truth is, none of us were chosen by God because we had it all together—His holiness alone qualifies us!
Just like a child learning to walk, we are all growing in Christ. Some days, we’re steady on our feet; other days, we trip over the same things we thought we had mastered. But instead of negative self-talk, let’s start speaking life:
✦ I am a work in progress, and God isn’t done with me yet. (Philippians 1:6)
✦ I may fall, but His grace lifts me back up. (Proverbs 24:16)
✦ I am fearfully and wonderfully made—even in my awkward growing seasons. (Psalm 139:14)
So if today feels a little wobbly, take heart! Every step forward counts, and every setback is just a setup for greater growth. Keep walking—someone needs your testimony. And most importantly, remember: Your Heavenly Father is cheering you on!
